Oh I don't know, some harsh winters have been major nutless for me.

Uh wait a minute, on second thought I wouldn't be sashaying around a little light in the paws with a name like that.

Yoohoo, General O'Nutty, let's say we Irish go chase some damn cats up a tree. Are ya with me? agree.gif

Perhaps I was trying to be helpful  by mentioning this to those who perhaps were contemplating taking their low-clearance vehicles up there anyway my dear. rolleyes.gif  rolleyes.gif  Perhaps I might also be in the minority who wish that road was closed to all vehicles to the lakes from Tomyhoi Lks. trailhead to allow that area to recover some, exempting those of course that own property/mining rights up there and need the road access.  shakehead.gif

Unless something was done to that road since last Oct. when I was up there it wasn't passable for a low-clearance car like a Honda Civic. Just up from the Tomyhoi trailhead where most sane people park and walk the road to Twin Lakes was a very deep dip across the road that looked suicidal to attempt crossing. I saw only a ranger's jeep and another 4wd truck make it and the truck's occupant's said they were pretty hesitant to try it. The rest of the road had a couple short stretches which were pretty  rocky. The switchbacks weren't that bad IMO for a passenger car to handle & it's not like there is a lot of oncoming traffic up there to worry about anyway. Just a word of warning for anyone attempting to drive past Tomyhoi Lks. trailhead. The  2 mile road walk is fairly steep, more so than the Winchester LO trail it seemed.

In Yvonne Prater's book, " Snoqualmie Pass: From Indian Trails to Interstate", she mentions a Fort Tilton. She says it was made in February, 1856 and housed up to 200 men. It was built of hemlock logs.

Hmmmm, the link I posted earlier mentions a Fort Tilton and Patterson built in 1856 in Fall City area- abandoned due to lack of hostilities two years later.....the plot thickens....

hyak.net- I was basing what I said on Craig's original comment about seeing a Ti(l)ton historical marker south of Abiel Pk on Snoq. Pass on a map. Now with that link to the Fall City area Fort Tilton info it seems logical that either that Snoq. Pass marker location is dead wrong or maybe signifies the fort was established in the general area (???)- having a fort down in the lowlands makes more sense anyway than up in the mountains.

Yes that's the effect I want.  up.gif  You mean I can post them at another website, say, then use the img thingy? I think I'll want to use these shots elsewhere besides just this forum.

Per my Robe Canyon trip report post today with updated "before and after" river level shots, is it possible to combine two separate photos into one image (containing the two photos) so folks can view them side by side for example rather than only being able to view them one at a time? Make sense? All experts please advise, many thanks!  M&S
