So, like $5.60 or $6.60, instead of $7.95 or $8.95...better be quick or it'll just be a pile of Beef Strogie left in there...

Regular price at Winco is still cheaper than Freddies sale price.

Winco is a grocery store but yes, there are not as many of them I believe.

You can get a better deal at REI. MH is on sale for 20% off. I will sell REI gift cards for 12.5% off. Works out to 30% off.

I like the stroganoff, too. I bought several this year. Give me good energy, that one. I've had it for breakfast on difficult trips, and I did great the rest of the day.

MH stew is really good (considering) and the blue berry cheesecake is excellent.

I have been a severe critic of Mountain House dinners in the past, but they have two news ones out, I bought Chicken Fajita and Chicken Teriyaki.
So far I have only had the Fajita but was very impressed, white meat chicken with onions, red, and green bell peppers. Bring some flour tortillas and salsa and you are set for a better than average backpacking meal.

Just had the MH Chiken Teryaki last night for dinner here at Summerland (sitting out by the creek in the meadow with cell service getting caught up on NW Hiker forum threads Had not had it before. Now my favorite MH dinner. My body doesn't agree with the Beef Strogi. Been eating MH the last 4 days. Can't wait for a burger (or 2) and a beer in Packwood on Tuesday before heading home!

I had that this past weekend hiking the Hoh. It tasted pretty good. However you did not want to be near me a little while later. Even worse when I was in my sleeping bag.

That is my normal backpacking meal. For better than normal, mash in half an avocado and add a gob of sour cream... sliced radish and jicama makes an excellent salad to accompany your burrito.
