Buck and Funk are both on the National Historic Register...does that influence any efforts to protect the structures?
Lots of beautiful old western larch near Funk. Bummer that it's burning (and man does it burn fast).

bummer!
National Register of Historic Places or not, sometimes there just isn't a lot they can do.

Very sad, there are too few fire lookouts left for any to be lost like this.

No safety first no one is going to go out of their way to risk their life for that

[Updated at 0755 on Aug 22.]
I've been telling people for some years that "we lose a few more nearly every single year." In years like this saving a tower that isn't even used anymore is at Priority Level 174.
Sites where mapped fires have at least covered/surrounded the summit (sometimes special measures are taken to save a structure, or comm. facilities):
Moses Mountain (kinda hard to burn down a 100' steel tower)
Strawberry Mtn (nr Moses) - the ground house is almost certainly gone
Buck Mtn
Tower Mtn (aka Lookout Mt - nr Wellpinit)
South Baldy
Sites that look like they are very likely to go to me:
Lookout Mt SW of Twisp
Omak Mt
Tunk Mt
Armstrong
Spokane Mtn
Lynx Creek
Wild card: Okanogan Post Office
Of course numerous old sites have burned over, likely destroying most of any artifacts:
Domke
Thrapp Mt (last year)
etc.
The season ain't over - maybe we can push this list even further.

I'm holding out hope for Lookout Mt. since it's on the other side of the Twisp River. On the other hand, with the winds as they are, nothing would surprise me.
I'm not holding my breath on Funk, but in looking at the recent fire data/maps, it does look like the fire boundary is just south of the final bend in the road to the lookout. I remember thinking that with just a little TLC, that one would be a great candidate for USFS rental.

Lookout Mountain, SW of Twisp, is still standing. It is not currently threatened as all fire is north of Twisp River.
Nor would it likely burn as it is pretty bare all around. Could happen, but unlikely.

I spoke with Ray Kresek......the South Baldy lookout is still standing. His son put some telemetry equipment up there yesterday via helicopter. so at least one of those on the list has survived. I'm hoping for more...

The Knowlton Knob tower lost two leg bases last year (I know because I took the first pictures of them) and nearby GRASSES ignited them.

Yes Lookout Bob, I put weasel words in my original post since I KNOW that in many cases you have to go up and have a look to see what survived and what didn't. I meant to convey (if I didn't) that the top list was towers that are embedded within areas mapped as having been burned off.
