Some I've taken this season. We're on hold now after our trip to SE Alaska was cut short due to serious illness. But, looking forward to getting back out there in a few weeks.

Thank you for the sweet B&W photos, Jim. You are one of the reasons that I gave up my black and white darkroom and Exacta SLR. I could not compete with guys like you. You got talent.

Thanks Snowbrushy, glad you like em. I tried shooting B&W and did some darkroom work too BITD, but won't ever go back - my renewed interest in B&W is all because of the ability to shoot color then pick and choose those to convert with the intuitive software tools available. Skyline Divide:

Lots of inspiring photos here -- too many to single out. Two from the Colman Glacier. On seracs, I just used a blue filter (in PS) which flattened the lighting which I liked because it brought out textures in the ice. On iceblock I played with levels and curve masks to bring out this massive ice chunk sitting out by itself in the early morning light. A sign of glacial retreat.

That jellyfish is great Gali! Where did you shoot it? (I'm assuming at an aquarium) The background is perfect. Great use of smoke in Echo Rock silence - I esp. like how you can just make out Rainier in the background. Whidbey Island:

Those are excellent jason - they both draw me in wanting see what is around the corner - just like I feel hiking such slots. Great detail and texture too and the processing is spot on with a good range of tones, but also nice deep blacks to draw the shadows into graphic elements that instantly pass the squint test. up.gif up.gif
