I was unaware that my firewood would not season properly here. Guess I'd better go tell it that.
I had too many SQUIRREL interruptions so am a bit behind on my wood gathering. Last weekend's storm dumped a maple snag which I cut up and I plan to severely thin a patch of small trees so the sun will reappear. They've grown too tall for the winter sun to clear. Then there's an ornamental tree that blocks the sun to the garden and more regular thinning to be done.
I call it, Going To The Gym.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Mike: Don`t know if you got your stove yet but we have 2, one is soapstone and has no fan and another a standard iron insert with a fan. They both work well (I would have to do some research to find the model names). The soapstone one is smaller and requires smaller wood but once the stone heats up it lets out warmth all night and is pretty cool (I suspect more expensive though..).
