I'm heading up to Skyline Lake for the first snowshoe of the season tomorrow, taking a friend if he mans up. I'm a slow pacer but love this hike. Across 2 from Stevens Pass if you've not been there. Probably in the parking lot around 9:30am.
Looks like they plan to do avalache control at 9am.
Quote:
Compact snow and ice on the roadway. Advance Notice: Avalanche control is planned for US2 Stevens pass on Tuesday, December 22nd between 4:00 am and 6:00 am and then again at 9 am. Eastbound Traffic will be stopped at milepost 58 at Scenic and westbound traffic will be stopped at milepost 64 at the summit of Stevens Pass. Avalanche control work generally takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete.
Thanks for the offer, but I've been up to Skyline a few times. I always like continuing over to Tye Peak but in these conditions probably not the best idea. This weather is kinda nuts unless you ski. Might just have to stick to the Teneriffe exercise hill.
