When I moved to Forks in the early 70's it was still very easy to see the "21 Blow" areas in the Hoh valley as they really stood out amongst the old growth. There are still some untouched patches and it is interesting to see how the areas have grown. I also had the opportunity to speak to folks that had lived through the storm. Was a very interesting time.
Pretty amazing, but it looks and sounds like it was not a tornado but an extremely powerful extra tropical cyclone. Winds look like they would have made insignificant the Columbus day storm of 1962.
