I should have admitted to doing my part to exacerbate the problem when I moved here in 1975. I'm still waiting for my return visa to Minnesota; they are still accepting some refugees.

Ummm, ski areas were still "crowded" on weekends in the 1970s. There were no high speed quads, you may have skied down fast, but then you had to stand in line to get back on the slow chairs. At least you did at Mission Ridge. The chair to the top was often shut down because of the weather, or it would break down. It was a long, cold ride sometimes.
We rode the school bus up and took sack lunches and often just ate out on a run somewhere. Oh, and we often skied wearing Scotchguarded jeans.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
