Walking my dogs at Lincoln Park tonight as it was getting pretty dark I heard the strangest bird calls from up in the trees at the North end of the park. There's definitely two of them and they sound like they might be some kind of owl, but maybe not??? The most prominent call doesn't sound like any owl I've ever heard before while the slightly quieter call is definitely an owl.
Fortunately I had my camera with me and was able to take a quick video which captured the calls.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Okay, guess they're Barred Owls. Just in case anyone's interested in what a mated pair has to say to each other, watch the video.

Owls can sound like tortured demons escaping Hell whilst sawing trombones in half with a hack saw.
Screech owls and GHO can easily be called in even by novices.
