Dutch the hammock guy is now selling freeze dried and dehydrated food (plus a lot of other food stuffs) on his new site called MakeYourOwnGear. He also sells "cook-in-bags" like Packitgourmet but he is calling them "bowl bags". Another difference is that his bags are low and wide while Packistgourmet's bags tend to be tall and narrow.
Also check out all of the neat DYI gear and materials he sells on that site. In addition, he is famous for his gold plated service.
In addition to the cook-in-bags alread sold by packitgourmet, Dutchware Gear has made an upgrade to his cook-in-bags.
And, I just noticed that Wallaby is now selling silver mylar cook-in-bags just like the ones used by most backpacking freeze dryed meal companies. They get good reviews (if you can believe Amazon reviews). Might be worth a try.
We have an Avid Armor chamber sealer, which works with most mylar bags. If you haven't seen them, they are pretty cool. OK, not cheap though. Won't lie on that. We have a freeze-dryer however, and use it often to seal both bags and mason jars for long term storage.
Anyhow, it's something that works well if you want long-term storage of meals made at home.
