There is a good chance this photo has already been posted here in the past, but I just acquired it so I will post it again.
Snow Lakes bore
Snow Lakes bore
The photo was taken in the summer of 1939 of the Snow Lakes water tunnel. The tunnel at the lower left is where the 30" sleeve valve is now located. The tunnel to the right goes into the control chamber that houses the main gate valve. This smaller tunnel is higher in elevation so you go in and walk out over large bore and over the gate valve on grating with the wheel coming up to control the gate valve.

Can you imagine the effort to get up there and do that drilling? I've been inside the tunnel. Back in the old days it wasn't difficult to get around the barricade. Its an amazing place.
