I looked for one the other day when I was up there, and I couldn't find one. Couldn't see the lakes from the trail either. I'd like someone to call me out as a dummy for not finding it, because I totally expected to find one and couldn't. wazzup.gif

I do not know about summer but in winter it is easy to continue straight on the road where it jogs right to Kendall overlook and Kenfdal lakes to the top of a dome which the PCT crosses before traversing to the catwalk. The Route to Kendal takes off before the catwalk. Beckey has a route from the upper lake to the summit in the first edition of the CMG but it has been replaced by the current route from the PCT.

Yes, go to lower left side of middle lake and head sort of NW up toward a low pass. The route is relatively obvious, if you have a hankering for going easiest route. Drop down the other side and you'll come to PCT after losing about 50 feet of altitude. It saves maybe 2 miles?
