up.gif I think Ruth is my favorite vocalist of the 3, but I haven't like her solo stuff as much as with the group. The Jennys are coming back to Washington again in December. Several dates in Central and Eastern WA, playing at Benaroya Hall on the 3rd and 4th.

Saw Ruth and the rest of the Jennys at Benaroya Hall (the smaller auditorium, not the main one) tonight. Good show. up.gif

Sera Cahoone at the Tractor Tavern tonight. Braved the windstorm for a good show.

Haven't been to a concert in quite a while. Fixed that tonight. Aussie country/folk singer Kasey Chambers turned into a total rocker tonight at the Tractor. Good show. Seen her twice now. She doesn't leave Australia very often, so you gotta catch her when she's here or you'll be waiting quite a while for another chance.

I haven't seen the Paperboys in forever, but I used to catch them fairly frequently. They've been passing thru Seattle regularly for forever--I first found out about them in the late 90's. They always put on an energetic, entertaining show.

The Wailin' Jennys played at Benaroya Hall again tonight. This time they were in the main auditorium. Debuted several new songs, played some older ones I don't think I've heard/seen them play live before. Very different set list than the last several shows I've caught. They were wonderful as always.

Going to see Dead & Co at the Gorge Saturday with members of the various bands I play in. My main reason to go is to see the two Grateful Dead drummers playing together. It has been 15 years since I saw them together. 50$ ticket is about the upper limit I will pay to see any R&R music that doesn't include Jerry Garcia...include him and I'll trade my house for a ticket. I've never been to the Gorge, looking forward to it.

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

Surprisingly great show, eh? John Mayer!? What bands are you in?

Tiller's Folly Sat night. Great show with a local twist. Vancouver band which does songs with a local historical theme. Check out Stirring Up Ghosts up.gif

Mayer was so good. Not what I expected. I figured it was going to be the same old sad no Jerry scene but it was buoyant and joyous. If Phil had been part of this it would have been through the roof. The Gorge is nice, we camped at Wildhorse and partied till the sun came up. Little Sense is the main band I play in. Mostly originals. I play in 2 or 3 GD jam groups. I play Phil in one group and Jerry in another.

I've been broadening my musical horizons quite a bit thanks to Pandora. But I've been a bit hesitant to see some of the artists I've gotten into more recently in concert because I wasn't sure if they could reproduce the sound very well live. I guess that was a bit silly and misguided. So anyway I saw the New Zealand sister/brother duo Broods tonight at the Neptune Theater. Really good show, thoroughly enjoyed it. I am pretty sure I was about twice as old as almost everybody else there, so I felt a bit weird about that. Oh well.

Um...I don't think I would count it as live music. Mostly really bad amateur vocals with piped in muzak in the background.
