I always find it interesting that regardless of what they are doing, or where they are at, so many of the men at that time would have a suit jacket and tie on. In this photo only one appears to have that combination but it is so common for many of the old hiking photos to have many with that combination.

The cook is wearing a campaign hat. My local high school football coaches wear them when the team practices on the field. I was issued one in scouts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campaign_hat#Boy_Scouts

Dunno, but that woman in the stripey jacket's got a way cool hat. And the lucky one on the left gnawing on a bone - man that's some grubbin' lunch! Lucky her - stuffing her face in perpetuity. I want to be like that woman when I go. Unlike the poor guy with smoke in his face in perpetuity.

Catered lunch, with a tent in case bugs are bad? I'm going to need to up my hiking fashion game. Long sleeved carhart pocket t-shirt wouldn't make it in this set. Best

I wouldn't win any fashion awards either with my Duct Tape gaiters. Maybe I could fashion a Duct Tape tie?

My Scandihoovian Cowboy granpa and uncles wore the narrow brim Stetsons. They'd start out "silver" colored and end up raggedy and stained.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
