I've used a 60D for years, and I've never thought that the features of the 7D justified an upgrade for me. As I understand it the 7D differs from the 60D in that it has more "professional" features and is built more durably. It has a faster burst rate and (I think) a faster auto-focus. I haven't heard of it having an auto-focus issue. The thing is that for the same price as a 7D series camera you can buy the canon 6D which has a full frame sensor. That's what I would get if I ever wanted to upgrade from my 60D but couldn't afford a 5D series camera.

Unless you can hit them with liquid nitrogen first, kids are pretty quick, so I'd guess the improved AF in the 7D would help your keeper rate. What lenses would you use it with?
