It became apparent that the only way to get the most accurate and final list of all fire lookout locations in Washington State was to do further research into the Aircraft Warning Stations during WWII.  So here is the start of that project.  Turns out, they are a lot of fun.  We started with a full day in the Seattle National Archives taking images of all documents related to A.W.S. locations.

This first link is a listing of former A.W.S. sites with an overview of AWS.  In time, I will have links to all the sites giving any history that has been found.

It would be interesting to see a photo of the 14' x 32' prototype. Do you think these might have been put together by same outfits that made kits for lookouts?

possibly. the aladdin company that made lookout kits also made kit homes for sears.
