I think most hikers are like Gremlins if they get wet.
Just wait until it rains. Plenty of solitude then.

All spring and summer I yearn for this time of year for that very reason. My hike last night was hardy souls only, save for the person wandering up and down the trail searching for their lost dog. Surely though, prior to getting lost, it was fully under control.

The OP actually didn't complain specifically about "crowding on trails"

Well, just to be "that guy" - "everywhere you go" pretty much leaves everything on the table.

The post ended with an appeal for legislation to "cut back the numbers".
What numbers? Immigration? Reducing immigration to zero would not reduce the population. Mass deportation of the undocumented would make scarcely any difference in your commute or your supermarket check-out time. And forget about forcing women to have babies or not have babies.
The post was about over population. The OP expressed anxiety about the lack of sanity evident in our driving and shopping. Ending with a call for legally sanctioned reductions in number of population.
Was this about putting people on a ship, and sending them somewhere else? Did I completely miss the overall tone of the post?
How do you legislate a reduction in population that doesn't violate the seventh commandment?

"There are too many people today!"...said Captain Obvious.
