Tieton River Trail:
I normally spend sunny October days with larches, but I decided to check out the colors in the Naches area for a change. First stop was the Tieton River Trail. Rather than starting from across the Oak Creek visitor center, I parked a mile or so down the road at the pullout by the suspension bridge. Pebbles had a ruff time trying to walk on the suspension bridge, so I ended up carrying her across.
The aspen and oak are fantastic right now. About a quarter mile before the open meadow, the trail is flooded. The meadow was pretty swampy, too - there was a waterfall rushing from high up on the canyon wall that was pouring right into the basin. Seems to be irrigation drainage from above, as I hiked up to the flume/canal and the water was low.
Hung out at the second bridge before heading back to the car.

Black Canyon:
I had a commitment back home and was running short on time, but wanted to check out the aspens in Black Canyon. Only went as far as the old cabin, but there was plenty of fantastic fall foliage along the way.
