There is little musical talent left alive these days...RIP Mr Lake

Nature exists with a stark indifference to humans' situation.

The video of "turn me on" looks like the show I saw in '73 or 74, right down to the shirt/tunic/pantsuit thing he's wearing. Lake's solo acoustic guitar sitdown was easily the best part of the show- "lucky man" was also a standout... Quadrophonic sound system- giant piles of K-horn type speakers in all four corners of the coliseum... ears rang for a couple of days afterward... I remember it as the loudest acoustic guitar I've ever heard... and it was flawless and perfect... RIP, Mr Lake.

Friday, December 9, 2016 05:17 PST from a friend I've known since fourth grade: "I always considered ELP to be in the upper echelon of rock bands. Sophisticated on the same level as Jethro Tull. Only Palmer left standing. Add another to the substantial list of musician losses in 2016. I guess we can only expect to see more of those as we get older. We push on toward the front of the line."
