Chapters 2, 3 and 4 of the Three Generations (Gwenda Blair) book is all about Seattle (Ch. 2) and Monte Cristo (Ch. 3 & 4). Pretty fascinating. Earlier discussion: 1) Monte Cristo - Trump Connection; and also 2) Jewel Speaks Interior Dept Future.

Cool story! Trumps Grandpa was a smart businessman, realizing that the real money wasn't from mining, but supplying the Miners needs. Sad that he died so young, at age 49, one of the earliest victims of the 1918 flu pandemic that killed an estimated 675,000 Americans. Hmmm....wonder if I should start getting a flu shot again? I personally am not a believer.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.
