That's a stern vert Kath; nicely done. Succession
Pitchin' my own conventional horizontal:
This was a transition to the north side of the mountain while ascending; blowing snow and drifts beautifully complicated travel. I'd have lingered longer but Bodhran was chilled in the shadow & wind.
Usual excellent characters hanging' out here in the photo section...

Nice shot David, but I'll throw in my usual wish for a skier swooping down in the sun
I've been processing pics from a 5 week trip to Southern UT and find the stark desert landscape and clouds lends itself to B&W.

Beautiful pics, Jim. We haven't been that part of Utah yet, maybe in a few years. Did you get some star pics?
Here is one from my recent trip to Heliotrope Ridge a few weeks ago.

Nice shots Kenji Looks like the snow was good, hope you got some good ski days in.
Here is a pano I just processed from Coyote Gulch in southern UT. Good example of why shoot RAW - on first glance the shots that went into this looked too dark since I exposed not to blow the highlights. I didn't bother with them on first pass of processing. Today I finally revisited the folder. I managed to bring out a lot of detail in post and then converted to B&W. Currently my favorite shot from the trip.

Nice shot, Jim. I always wanted to shoot a version of that shot with stars. |

gb, I too would have loved to shoot the stars out from under that huge cave, but too many people were already camping there and I wasn't up for hiking over at night since we had a full moon going anyway. Here is an attempt from down river a bit where we camped, just past Jabob H. Arch. I like how the moon illuminates the rock walls, although it does dull the stars.

Slot canyon in Zion. I didn't have a dry suit, so wading through that water in January was chilly.

In keeping with the Utah theme, here's a detail of desert varnish from the wonderful walls along the road into Capitol Gorge:
