Condolences. I've used Snowbrushys reports as a resource for years.
Hope he makes it home to Snowbrushy Creek. I love the Entiat.

So sad to hear this. My condolences to Darcie and his many friends. He seemed like a NW hiker who lived his life with enthusiasm and conscience. His love of the places he visited and the environment he cared for was more than obvious. His voice will be missed.

Very sad news. I enjoyed his historical references and it's nice he was active in Scouting. RIP Snowbrushy.

Snowbrushy was a great poster on this site and from his posts you could tell he was a kind and good person.
This is from an early post of his where explains his choice of nickname:
Snowbrushy wrote: | Thank's for asking about Snow Brushy Creek. But we took a right at Emerald Park and a long day's hike to Domeke Lake and Lucerne. We didn't hike down Snow Brushy. But thru these many years I've alway's remembered the headwater's of Snow Brushy and I love the name. I love that whole area - please don't tell anyone!
PS Snow Brush is a sub alpine plant. Must be some plants growing on that creek/trail. |
from this thread
He left too soon.
Thank you for sharing this news so we can remember Snowbrushy and think about his legacy at NWHikers. What kind of posts will each of us be remembered for? Snowbrushy set an example we could all be proud of. We will miss him.

I'm really going to miss Snowbrushy, also. He had some great stories and insight on a lot of different subjects, and I think I enjoyed his posts on local history the most. He was a good guy.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He posted a lot of things that got people talking and brought ugh to up some sometimes obscure topics not talked about much.
His contributions to the site will be missed going forward.
My condolences to the sister and family. Thank you for letting us know.

I recently talked to some people that had snowmobiled into the the Entiat. Apparently the North Fork and Cottonwood campgrounds are gone. Word is that there is not one living tree left around the Cottonwood CG or TH and you can now see the CG from that the top of the hill before you drop down into the area. That does not bode well for them opening up the area any time soon. But we can still hope.
