Really cool stuff! Kind of confusing to go to your site, find the tiny link to the photos, click the photo, click the info tab for captions etc... lots of steps but the result is pretty cool! Looks like an amazing hike! I've always wanted to visit GNP, thanks for the reminder that I need to make it happen and soon! I particularly liked this shot.

Thanks bigskywalker. I'd just add one comment re the Highline Trails experience for anyone contemplating a visit. Road noise is a significant factor; the trail parallels the road for some time and summertime typically brings heavy traffic. Dawson-Pitamakan would be my nominee for a glorious on trail day hike. Yes, some uphill to earn miles of ridge walking but well worthwhile. FWIW I didn't grow up in Montana but have spent major chunks of my life there - 6 months cumulative hiking/mountaineering in Glacier and doing most of the high peaks and alpine traverses there, major time in the Beartooths etc.

That looks beautiful. I've done several hikes in Glacier NP but have not done the Highline.

I did the Highline trail from Logan pass to Granite Park chalet. Wonderful. Yes, I heard a couple of Harleys chugging up the Going to the Sun road. They didn't bother me or wake this guy:

Eric, I've never thought of the road noise - good point. I have noticed it in the early part of the hike, but thought it was kind of cool to look down on the highway. Also, I agree that the Dawson-Pitkamen hike is one of the best as well.

awilsondc - Yes, there are too many steps to get to the photos. Not sure what I can do about that - It is definitely not for those who are in a hurry.

up.gif Did the whole thing via a shuttle with the family back in the mid 90's a lot of wildlife and great views. I do remember past the chalet coming towards the road people heading up with bells on their poles or shoes making all kinds of noise to drive bears away and thinking they would be driving them towards us. shakehead.gif

Thanks again for posting bigskywalker. I was looking around your site and especially enjoyed the picture of you on top of Norris. I've been by there twice, once each direction while doing the Norris/Blackfoot Basin Traverse. Memory has us both times below the summit, sidehilling the slope below you in the picture.
