I rafted the Selway last year and lots of fishermen up the Selway River trail on our last day near road's end.

PS: I do a lot of commercial rafting and that trip was sublime.
Hiking the Selway River Trail upstream from the Race Creek trailhead near Selway Falls is nice. Peaceful, but not spectacular scenery. The Selway River should have decent fishing and Moose Creek is pretty well-regarded for fishing, but is a long hike in and best if you're spending a week or so out.
Stanley Hot Springs is a pretty magical place (about 6 miles one way from the Wilderness Gateway Campground) and is on the way to some mountain lakes, but I'm not sure about the fishing opportunities there. Very close to Kooskia.
I'm more familiar with the hiking on the Montana side of the Selway-Bitterrot Wilderness and would be happy to point you to some cool spots with good fishing over that way if you're interested.
Plenty of trails over there, but I've only got personal experience with the ones I mentioned.
