Whoa! Those are some serious horns, kinda look like ibex. No idea on what they are or how they got there. Cool pics!

I believe there are no true wild goats native to North America. Our mountain goats are some kind of weird critter w/ no close relatives that aren't considered true goats.

I think goat not sheep. I looked up mouflon, their horns kinda curl similar to bighorn. The body/face doesn't quite match but the horns are more close to the ibex I suggested.

Goat or sheep I don't know, but that one came from Dr. Doolittle's farm.

Don't know much but you pass a game farm on the way to the falls from Walla Walla.

I do miss Ibex here compared to the Alps ... Such magnificent animals. But anyway, obviously shouldn't be bringing in new species (same for edelweiss, and the large gentian)

Wanted to know the story on these goats... "It is our understanding that these are a breed of Spanish goats, so a domestic goat breed. There have been several sightings of these animals, starting about a year and a half ago. All reports have been of them on the east side of the river, so on private land not in the park. If you do/did see them in the park please report it to state parks (509) 646-9218 and let them know. If you have any further questions let me know. Thanks, Michael Atamian Spokane District Wildlife Biologist Washington Department Fish & Wildlife" 2315 North Discovery Place Spokane Valley, WA 99216

According to an Army Corps of Engineers ranger who also hikes, these are pack goats. They are larger than normal domestic goats and have recently gained popularity because they will come when called and are easy to work with. https://willowwittranch.com/farm-goods/packgoats
