I've been reading more about the Moonbow gearskin over at the Lightweight Backpacker and I'm about sold on one as a replacement for my old Gregory Day & 1/2 pack and ancient Schonhoffen X-frame pack.
Anyone have one? CascadeHiker? (I think I've seen posts by you on the other board). I'd love to hear the experiences of a member of this board and, if possible, check out the goods before I place an order.
Multiple reviews of the Moonbow Gearskin are available at http://www.backpackgeartest.org/ navigate to the reviews. Click on packs, and the rest should be obvious. The packs are currently being tested, so there are still a few reviews due sometime soon (I'm not certain quite when.)

Sgt. Rock's review at http://hikinghq.net/gear/backpacks.html says he's carried 50 pounds comfortably in one. The guy who makes them (grain of salt here) says he carried 60 pounds up Ranier in one this summer. I can't remember the last time I carried 50 pounds, but I suspect I was wearing green . . .
Edited to correct spelling error
There are two (2) M's in SUMMER Dante!!!
let's get some people who've used that baby to get together and talk about it. How theyve packed it, how it rides, so on!

Well, so far I've got three trips on mine and it is working great. I've tried different combinations but this morning during a quick exit from the Headlight basin during a snowstorm, I packed it like they show on the website and I had everything in it, wet and otherwise in the space of just minutes. This concept has lots of possibilites.
I saw a homemade gearskin at the lightweight backpacker forum
http://www.backpacking.net/bbs.html
(go to the make it yourself forum and then to the homemade gearskin thread) He has posted pics of his creation in the photo pages of this Yahoo group

Its a nice looking pack and really looks like a lot of thought went into it.
