Hi,
I am planning for a day hike to Camp Muir, details here:

Could you please recommend some gear rental outlets in Seattle? How do they generally charge, if I want the gear for a day hike and collect the gear a day before and return it the morning the day after the hike, would I be charged for 1 day or more?
I am interested in hiking boots, microspikes and hiking poles.
Rental plastic climbing boots, are superb at keeping feet warm and dry. As well as providing secure footing on snow. However they are overkill for a trek to Muir and are notorious for causing painful blisters.
Thanks @SlingShot and @RandyHiker
@RandyHiker - The tips on shoes is very useful, I will check out for regular waterproof trekking shoes that can have some traction device fitted on them for snow.
@SlingShot I will check with this company soon.

Back 40 Outfitters is a backpacking and camping kit rental company. They have snowshoes and trekking poles. Seems like for the price of microspikes, I doubt many places rent such an inexpensive item.
