evazote (IMO) is definitely warmer than the blue pads. lighter per volume. far more fragile too. i'm not delicate enough with my gear to roll things perfectly, so me and evazote don't get along in the 1/8" version. i haven't tried anything thicker, but i suspect it would roll better and be more durable.
i carry a sit pad from walmart. think it's like 2'x2'. i bring it in the winter on all trips for a just in case moment. i don't actually use it - just a piece of safety gear.
late to the party, but if you're still looking, here's a website that sells different types of foam, including EVA which I believe used to be called ensolite and may be the same thing or very similar to evazote which Iron mentioned.

The local Bartells Drug had a whole bunch of closed cell pads sold as yoga matts. You could get one in all sorts of pastel colors. Why go with light blue when you can be sporting orange, purple or pink.
