Used my umbrella on four miles of full sun forest road walk with it attached to my pack, worked well, much cooler under it. up.gif

If you are just worried about sun exposure it is simpler to wear full coverage SPF clothing and protect your face with a sun cape hat and a face guard from Bekogear. You might think they would be hot and sweaty but are really not. That only leaves the embarrassment when meeting other hikers on the trail. For some reason I find that a sort of fun and interesting experience. I usually just act like nothing is different about me and try to gauge the reaction.
