Sunday morning we climbed Raven Ridge car to car from the Libby Lake TH. The road (Gold Creek 4340) to the TH was in excellent shape. The trail is in decent shape as well; there were numerous downed trees but nothing too irritating. We reached consistent snow after about 2.5 miles and were pleased to have brought our snowshoes. It would have been postholing hell for the last few miles to the lake without them
We climbed one the north gullies (the one nearest to the where the trail meets the lake) and scrambled up to Pt 8572. The ridge scrambling was slow going due to 2-3 inches of fresh snow covering the rock. It was 1pm by the time returned to the lake so we decided to pass on Hoodoo Peak since there weren't any views and we were eager to get back to Seattle at a reasonable hour.
The wildflowers and views during the last mile of our hike were fantastic. I’m really excited to get back here during the larch season.

Hey thanks for the report. About how long did it take you round trip from the car?

Round-trip it took us about 11 hours; including breaks on the summit, at the lake, and gratuitous wildflower gawking smile.gif and with better conditions on the ridge I imagine that time could be much smaller

Wow. Snow on branches on trees in almost June. Happens. Not very often though!

Art is an adventure.

End of June Libby and Ravens Ridge / Roost. It's only going to get better.
Thanks, I saw your trip report while doing research. We considered the approach you described but opted for the Libby Creek TH... maybe next time.. when the Larches are peaking and the West side is wet.
