Tony (Get Out and Go), Steve and I decided to brave the crowds and make this trip Saturday. After arriving and finding one of the last parking spots in the lot we moseyed on in to Stuart Lake. Bugs weren't bad until near the Colchuck cutoff.

As usual the views were great as was the weather.

We headed to the outlet area and relaxed a bit, fished, and just enjoyed the beautiful day in that setting.

We passed several people heading in late afternoon. I often wonder where they end up camping when it's Saturday afternoon and they're just heading in. Only passed 2 people that had missed the Colchuck cutoff. They looked young and strong so it probably didn't faze them a bit. Couldn't have asked for a better day with a couple great hiking companions.

up.gif Looks like I missed a great day with some hiking pals. I sort of felt obligated to do Saturday activities with my wife since I had just been on a wild goose chase the two days before. But keep me in mind for future quickies like this. They are good leg stretchers.

It had been a few years since I had done that trailhead. I won't complain about the numbers. It's great that people are hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
