Can't find Ursacks that vary from manufacturers list price. (except inflated prices) Anyone know of discount sources? About ready to just bite the bullet and go to REI.

We got one at MEC Canadas version of REI and it was cheaper than the US especially with the exchange rate. You can check online.

Thanks for the suggestion. Present exchange rate makes it about the same as REI price. MEC lists the Ursack at $99CN.

Rei is giving a $20 coupon is you spend more $100 online before the 23rd. Spend that much and you get free shipping. The catch is it has to be used between aug 4-14 either online or at store.

Thanks. I'll consider this if all else fails.

I bought mine from REI using a 20% off coupon, plus free shipping. Assuming REI still carries the S29 Ursack and that you're willing to wait for their next coupon. . .

I wish I had known that I was going to need a bear-proof container and used my 20% option earlier this year. Thanks to responders for suggestions!

REI usually has the 20% off deal several times per year. Without it, you still get a 10% rebate at dividend time.
Do note that the Ursack is still not legal in the Sierra and in Olympic National Park. It is legal in those jurisdictions that say they accept IGBC-approved containers.
