I believe that's one of the buckwheat flowers. I saw lots on my last hike too.

Thanks! Looks like it could be Heartleaf Buckwheat.

When I looked up that flower on the Burke I couldn't find "two lips". Is that a Synthyris?

Can't recall the name but I don't think it's a wildflower. My mom had them in our garden in Michigan.

Kim is correct, that is grape hyacinth, Muscari neglectum, from Eurasia.

Thanks! So it's less of a wildflower, and more of an escaped flower :-)

That doesn't look familiar. Members of Asteraceae that have yellow flowers include Balsamorhiza, Crepis, Arnica, Nothocalis, Senecio, Packera, Microseris, Nestotus, Stenotus, Wyethia, Hulsea, Erigeron, Grindelia, Tonestus, Agoseris, Hyeracium, Helianthus, and a few others. The only ones that have a similar disk are Balsamorhiza, Arnica, Wyethia, Erigeron, Grindelia, and Helianthus. The only ones that make sense are Balsamorhiza, Arnica, and Helianthus and perhaps a few others. I would think the flower head is malformed. The slight bit of the sepals that are visible lead me to Balsamorhiza sagittata. Washington Native Plants Society has plant lists for many locations in Washington. If you can't find the appropriate list try to find one for a nearby area.

Trying to ID this one. Found on Wapshilla Ridge far above The Salmon River in Nez Perce County, Id. Different growth stages in the photos.
