Anyone linked the Lost Cr. Ridge Tr. to the Red Pass area of PCT by traversing the ridge south from Lake Byrne over Black Mt., Skullcap Peak? i.e. without going down to the White Chuck R., following PCT south.

It is a high route in Routes and Rocks, the crux is Black Peak. It is easy from red pass to Black Peak and from Black to Burne. The permanent snow on Black has pretty much disappeared making it choosy.

We were going to do this last week but along the way decided there was too much snow to deal with in trail runners so took the long way down to the PCT. I've done Black-Skullcap-Portal as part of the Painted Traverse (there are a couple good trip reports here) and there are a couple short scramble sections but nothing seriously exposed. Would still like to try the short Byrne-Black high route some day.

It is rated as difficult in the Routes and Rocks book. Routes and Rocks pdf Black Mountain High Route is on page 81 Map showing Black Mountain High Route
