Crap. Another burn patch to walk thru on the way to Hidden lakes. Lighting strike I suspect.

The fire map appears to show the fire very close to the bridge crossing of Diamond Creek. There are a couple of campsites here. I hope it wasn't caused by someone's carelessness. Keeping my fingers crossed and praying they get it contained and extinguished ASAP. It's a gorgeous spot.

Whistler Basin (North end) was always my favorite camping spot!

Two weeks in a row? You are becoming a jinx for fires canceling Pasayten trips.

Hope it comes under control. Exactly one of the reasons I lobbied Ben for the trip we did; I kept telling him that area all the way back to Sheep was one of the last Pasayten unburned areas in our lifetime and worth seeing ASAP just in case

There hasn't been any lightning in the area.
My guess: an unattended campfire.
It's so dry up there...and I hear it's been windy. Sigh.

That's exactly the same feeling I had, hoping for the best in this situation. There is so much to lose here.

Oh, dang! If it was from a campfire, I hope they are found and prosecuted. I believe there's a burn ban in that area.

Wilderness Areas are generally exempt from county burn bans.
