The trail is in excellent shape from Trap Lake north to Stevens Pass. There are a handful of blowdowns, but nothing problematical. A lot of water sources have dried up between Mig Lake and Lake Susan Jane, but there is one good brook crossing the trail about two miles north of Mig Lake. Bring lots of 100 percent DEET, the biting flies and mosquitos are very bad, and nothing else works. Smoke had diminished to a light haze a couple of days ago.
