Ben (NorthBen) and I did a 40-mile traverse (12,000' gain) of the eastern half of the Sawtooth Wilderness.
With 20 of the 40 miles being cross country, it was scenic, offered a lot of solitude, and was extremely difficult. I'm already looking forward to going back for the western half next year.

I'm over in Idaho on a family visit and checking out some properties for a potential future move. It's a different world over here. Beautiful photos.

I miss the Idaho high country. You cruised through some beautiful country, that's a heck of a trip!

So jealous! I had a (more modest) trip planned there last month but had to cancel due to a storm. Nice shots (Saddleback Lake, wow). Glad to see the smoke has cleared.

Cool Luke Small world. Anita and I did a 6-day trip in the Idaho Sawtooths the prior week, mostly off trail, connecting subalpine basins via alpine cols. After the first camp we had the place to ourselves. Fantastic camps and the fishing was great.

Rich-AW-Neek-Tex: yeah it's an awesome area. Lots of exploring to do there...
Steve: we saw fish in almost every lake, but not that size! Glad you two got out there as well.

Burly, Luke!
A whopper, Steve! Fly-caught? ( don't tell me that's one of the smaller ones)

Where might I find a paper map of this route? What did you use?

Considering how "Big" Steve is, that's a "Big" fish. Nice one Steve"O"

I don't do red line maps of off-trail routes. PM me if you want route info.

I wasn't actually looking for the map of your exact route, just a map of the area - and I actually already found that on REI. I'll be sure to PM you if have questions. Thanks Steve.
