Friday September 29, 2017 19:01 PDT Dear Interested Party, The Preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Calawah Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Project is now available for a 30-day public review and comment period. The proposed action was designed to meet recreational needs in the area while protecting watershed values and minimizing impacts to Forest resources. The EA compares effects between taking no action and implementing the proposed action. The Proposed Action includes the following: Designate about 22 miles of Forest roads and user created OHV trails for use by OHVs 50 inches wide or less (Class I and Class III OHVs). Construct about 0.25 miles of new OHV trail. Rehabilitate about 6.6 miles of user-created trails to focus use on the designated trail system and reduce impacts to Forest resources.
