This is on C-Span, not Youtube. The always scholarly yet entertaining Prof. Gary Gallagher of the University of Virginia gives the very last lecture in his American Civil War class before retiring from teaching. Civil War Memory

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

I know... you thought "Fistful of Dollars" was where it all started.... Okay, so Morricone wrote way better music, and Leone's work is unrivaled genius, but The Man With No Name never pulled any tricks out of his hat like Franco Nero pulls out of his coffin in this classic.
(Besides, you always wanted to know where Tarantino got his inspiration, didn't you?) wink.gif

Fitness model flits around PacNW parks, including a near example of how people fall of cliffs for social media near the end.

I'm liking the Winnetou series of films from Karl May. Ridiculous stories, major historical errors, but they're still great entertainment... and the shooting locations in Croatia and Slovenia are spectacular... a few undubbed sections where there's a lot of shouting in German are somehow utterly hilarious...

^ That was a hoot.... birch-bark canoes, teepees, and totem poles all in the same place! Looking at the arch villain Colonel Brinkley (Herbert Lom) I kept thinking "Who is that guy?" His eyes are unmistakable. After looking at IMDb, it clicked: he was Ben Yussuf in El Cid. Great scenery. The complete and total absence of historical or geographic accuracy, a plethora of anachronisms, and some rather puzzling continuity errors notwithstanding, this is definitely classic Saturday-afternoon-at-the-movies stuff. Thanks for posting. up.gif
