According to the Crystal Mountain telemetry site the wind gusted to over 100 mph up there earlier today. The gondola is not running. http://www.nwac.us/weatherdata/crystalskiarea/now/

9 degrees here and snowing and blowing. A friend nearby has the wind at 25mph and I will have to see if a neighbor knows that their shingles are blowing off. It blew hard all night and is supposed to keep on through tomorrow. I call it "winter" but it brings back memories of digging out my garage door every day because of drifting snow. We don't have that much snow here today.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Big fizzle in Spokane, The Seattle area got more snow than us! We got a skiff and the sun is out now. But over in North Idaho, Lookout pass and Silver Mtn each received 12+ " of snow in the last 24 hours. Weather "events" seem to be far more localized these days. If you don't like the weather, travel a hundred miles.

Nature exists with a stark indifference to humans' situation.

Was looking for this thread last week when my barometer could go no lower. Nothing happened. Aren't you folks supposed to get a big storm?

National weather service doesn't show any big storms in the forecast but there is a wind advisory for today with possible gusts of 30 mph. At present there is not much wind.

My old one is now off the scale. It is below the 28 and has no numbers. No wind here and a light rain.
