I guess you have to have an experienced eye to see the difference. I'm not by any means a computer geek so don't know how to label. Note the two tallest trees in the center of the photo. Compare foliage of right one to left one. You should see a difference. The one on the right has less needles which indicates to me that it is going to go over. There were already downed trees with the roots broken off. That is another indicator. The timber company has replanted some of the infected areas with Western White Pine, which is a native of the west side and is more resistant to the disease. The area in the picture will remain unlogged as it is in a riparian zone. My dog soaks in the creek right there. up.gif

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

They don't need shallow roots. Water & food isn't far from the soil surface!

Don't you mean deep roots?
