Seems like even going to church is pretty risky these days. Other humans are a far bigger threat to Seattle residents than an off route bear. I doubt a grizz could make it through "The Mercer Mess" in one piece.

if it tried to go down I-90 it would have to use the bike lane where it would be run down by a pace lane if it was in April- June

Restore Seattle!
You can get heavy duty buckshot loads for bears but it his spendy. I got some for black bear protection when I lived in an area known to have bad bears. The previous occupant of my house shot a bear that had broken the door down.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

The area where the guy killed the grizz is 200 miles from Butte , The nearest thing resembling a city.
Chico , what century do you envision grizzly bears raiding Amazon's garbage dumpsters?

You miss the point. Everyone expects them to stay in the wilderness but they are migrating outwards!
What century? This! All that food!

What everyone? Black bears occasionally show up in the Seattle suburbs. Why would grizz be any different?
So if grizz come back to the North Cascades, maybe at some point Seattlites will need be even more careful about food waste in their garbage?

When you put it that way it is frightening.

In Alaska where grizzly bears are still lurking about, there is roughly one fatal bear attack per year , meanwhile approximately 145 Alaskans "swallow their gun" per year and another 80+ die in automotive crashes.

perhaps because you failed to make one. That article has nothing zero zip nada to do with grizzly bears migrating into Seattle city limits. I gotta ask again: WTF is the deal re bear fear threads on NWHikers?

I would say it is a way for those with an agenda to promote the tool that cannot be mentioned but, you already knew that.

Much better to have wolves than bears.
So many Seattleites (transplants mainly I expect) want to hear wolves howling. Get a pack going at Green Lake and problem solved!

There is already plenty of howling around Greenlake on Friday and Saturday nights -- but it has nothing to do with Canis lupus
