Drove up to the end of the potholed and puddled Icicle Rd. looking for valley options. Thought about French Ck. confluence, but wanted a bit more view so drove back down to the Chatter Ck. Trail. I would usually bemoan the lower portion of the inefficient "newer" trail, but today was about enjoying the wet and woodsy instead of hot and dusty. Nice to see the snow level drop again. I was just shy of the upper creek crossing (probably sketchy) before heading back down. Reminder that the 8-mile road is gated for the season but valley possibilities abound. wink.gif

Good reminder! And road conditions weren't too bad? No snow or slush?

jdk610, Road is snow/slush free, just need to swerve around potholes and puddles. HitTheTrail, on our list for next summer! Yesterday, I considered walking Dr. Ck. Road but opted for the southern exposure of Chatter Creek.
