Old Farts Local 509 started from the end of the pavement up #2 Canyon Rd. and we hiked to the near end of the road paralleling the old meadow then traveled off trail through the Western section of the meadow gaining a ridge and went up to the West summit of Twin Peaks from the S ridge over to the East summit where we took shelter from the cold temps generated from cloud cover and wind chill (12 degrees). The snow began from the vehicle, but at most was 1 -2 " on the exposed ridge just below the summit. The terrain was very nice and we had some good blue sky views to the West > North. The summit lunch was good with every layer on, and while there was plenty of hot coffee, but shortly thereafter we had to move and generate heat. 7 mi., 2300' r/t.

Looking cold I had 26 degrees and winds gusting to 20 mph.
I have not been out with both of these guys at the same time since last May on our Little Bridge Creek trip up in the Sawtooths. The highlight of that trip was when we set up camp on top of jagged rocks and Wildernessed poked 15 holes in the bottom of his new tent! It was good to get the three of us together again, even though my hands got so cold I stopped taking photos half way through the hike.
