Thinking about doing this as a snowshoe soon and am unsure about the parking situation off of Exit 62. I'm pretty sure that getting up forest roads is not possible right now so looking for parking near the exit for a direct route up. Any ideas now that the sno-park is no longer there?

Well, parking within an interchange is verboten but chances are any signage will be obscured by snow so you'll have trouble determining the limits of said no parking zone.

Good luck!

With Price Creek gone there aren't any easy options.

You can park at Crystal Springs, Gold Creek or Kachess sno-parks and work your way from there.

Crystal Springs would allow the most direct access to the prior Price Creek route, but you'll end up walking quite a few miles of road.

From Gold Creek getting to the top of Keechelus ridge would involve following many miles of groomed snowmobile trail -- Might be a good idea to wear a reflective bike safety vest so you don't get mowed down.

Heading northwest from the Kachess sno-park might provide an experience similar to the hike from Price Creek.

The other option before the snow pack gets much deeper is to shovel out your own space at the intersection of the Kachess Lake road and RD 4832 -- but as more storms roll through that becomes less viable.

That might be the best option. 4832 is the road I want to head up before taking off straight  up the ridge.

He was able to drive up 1.5 miles up 4832 which is probably not likely at this point.

It is certainly not possible because it is a groomed snowmobile trail closed to wheeled vehicles. That said, this suggests there is probably a snopark to access the area which could be used for parking... Not sure how far away the parking is though.

We went today and found parking at the junction of Kachess Lake Rd and FR 4832. There is room for about 6-8 cars there. I would imagine that on weekends it might be tough to find an available spot though.
Beyond this point road 4832 is groomed for snowmobiles so driving on it is verboten as christensent posted. No sign there indicating a sno park pass is required or that parking is prohibited. Just don't block the road.

Parking on FR 4832.
Parking on FR 4832.
