The cliff side site at Golden Lakes is nice.

Although I didn't camp there, I thought the Dick Creek site was charming and scenic with only two sites. I thought the worst sites I saw as I went around the mountain were North Puyallup and Mowich Lake, the former merely nondescript and unattractive, the latter dusty and very heavily trafficked. Devil's Dream has a soft spot in my heart - where I spent several hours in the company of a Northern Flying Squirrel. A several quart water container is useful. Many of the campsites are not conveniently close to their water sources. Like that nice cliff side camp at Golden Lakes.

I boozed there once. Not sure if it qualified as "big" or not though.

"Whatever your mountain, climb on."

I ditto Indian Bar, I'd send pics but I'm one my phone. waah.gif Although it isn't talked about a lot, I do want to give a shout out to North Puyallup on the west side if you are staying over there. I know it's not as popular as others but I really enjoyed it. The campsites are nestled back in off the trail, the sun rising and setting over the peaks above as I sat by the rushing water near the bridge was a highlight of doing the Wonderland. The privy was just a bit weird...

You don't find yourself standing at the top of a mountain without having started out in the valley.

Is that the one right by The Colonade? I didn't camp there but passed thru on a long day hike loop. I thought it looked pretty cool too.

@olderthanIusedtobe Possibly. It is right at the high bridge over the river and where the old road ends (cool stone walls).
