Hello! I am trying to gauge camp sites for summer (I am dreaming of backpacking while it rains) along this trail. I have gone from Rialto to Chilean memorial. I was really wondering about Cedar Creek and Norwegian Memorial campsites. Anyone have preferences/opinions on these? Thank much!

I haven't been to Norwegian but Cedar Creek is one of my favorite campsites on the coast. Nice open beach, sea stacks, and a few really nice tent pads.

The Cedar Creek one is closest to the logging road backdoor approach. I've seen people there with blue tarps, loose dogs and target shooting.

Summer? Find yourself a stream for water, and bed down on the sand. (know that you'll have sand fleas visiting which kept me partially awake years ago when did the hike with older brother and father.)

Thanks. I think you are the only one who actually answered the question. Which is nice.

Both sites you mention are nice. Expect to see others in the summer. You probably already know the importance of understanding the tides, overland routes etc. Shoot for Spring time if you want nice weather along with rain. The area can be surprisingly dry in the summer. Good luck!
