Puzzlr: do you know where the road access to the old bridge site (closer to the confluence) was located? Was it through the current day use picnic area?

Good call. If you walk from the Middle Fork trailhead along the trail to the picnic sites near Taylor River you'll see where it used to head out straight for the river. This was the old railroad grade, then later the road.
On the right is the old railroad grade heading straight to the river. The picnic site trail continues left. Old Middle Fork railroad grade prism at the bank of the Taylor River

I was in Duvall for a music concert last summer where they recreated the "piano drop", although with a cardboard piano.

This is awesome! In the late 80s my older brother took me "camping" somewhere on the middle fork. I remember parking at a berm and then using a wheelbarrow to truck our stuff in to a fire ring. In retrospect I think this may have been the place!

Just a little more info about the Buffalo Party rock concert at the Taylor River Campground. I was talking about with my friend Dick Kirby who was the seasonal Forest Service Ranger that puzzlr mentioned in his write up. Dick told me that the Banditos Motorcycle Club provided the traffic and parking control for the concert.
Dick was the seasonal ranger up the Middle Fork Valley for 32 years besides being a middle school teacher starting in 1965. He and another ranger would stay at Camp Brown in a Forest Service cabin made out of concrete blocks. After a few years it was torn down due to people breaking out the windows and wrecking the place during the off season. A 40' travel trailer was then used during the summer/early Fall months for the rangers to stay in while working up in the Middle Fork Valley. They ran a fire hose a 1/4 mile to a creek for water, so had hot and cold water at the trailer. Of course back in those days you could drive up the Taylor River Road within 2 miles of Snoqualmie Lake and up the Middle Fork Road all the way to Hardscabble Creek to get to the Dutch Miller Gap Trail.

Came across this old image on FB the other day. I realize it's far downstream from the campground and most of the area discussed in this thread but maybe it's notable for some.
