Two women clam digging died minutes apart in two different locations. Long Beach and Grayland. Just a reminder that the surf can be deadly, especially in winter. king5.com

Tragic. I was out on Friday night at Copalis and the surf was calm. Just goes to show you how things can vary from day to day and location to location. ~Slim

It's a low tide activity.

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

Clam digging? It certainly can be. Be rather difficult seeing sneaker waves come in via lantern light.

This time of year, minus tides and razor clam digs that are authorized are almost always in the dark for some reason. Toward Spring there seems to be more day light.
