Any thoughts? Tip: If you do not want to wait until 5 every day they are live on CBC 99 Comcast. More sports not quite so much flag waving and human interest stories.

I have been enjoying them. Cured me of my usual NFL withdrawal. Its always fun to watch the skiing competitions and today`s Downhill was cool as always.  The Snowboarding half pipe competition was amazing to watch as well. How the contestants catch high air and twist/flip in the sky is really wonderful to see. The luge and the biathelon were also a fun watch, for me. I thought the way NBC covered the rifle shooting made things more interesting in the biathelon. An important note for me is to make sure to record and watch later and forward to the good stuff or all those ads would kill me!!  Last, It`s fun to watch with my teen aged kids who have seemed to put  their cell phones aside more that usual, thankfully....

I really enjoy the winter Olympics.  Well, most of it.  not a huge fan of the ice skating/dancing stuff. I do like the short track speed skating.

Agree that the CBC coverage is better than the American coverage but of course they show mostly the Canadian competitors and rarely the Americans.  I watched women's curling and that Canadian lady who launched the stones (don't know what her position is called) was probably the most beautiful athlete I've ever seen...  biggrin.gif

I tried to watch the women's super G last night but was at a restaurant and distracted a lot by the people I was talking to then fell asleep when I got home so don't know who won or if Mikaela Shiffrin was even in that competition.  I was really bummed to see her get bumped off the podium yesterday in the slalom.  Her last olympics, would be nice to see her take a medal home.

Come on. You know it’s not fair to compare them with our local legacy. How are they supposed be compare to the S Fk Hoh, or ...

I do like curling. I wish they’d put in an ice next to the existing skating arena in Kent, on W James. It was designed to support another rink from ground up. PM me if you’d like more details.

Why not curling instead?

Best.

Pyrites - Why not curling instead... of what?

Do you mean partake in some curling instead of ice skating?  Would be fun if you could get the teams together!

Curling is great lots of lanes in the Great White North. Done properly requires beer. One Olympic sport I have participated in.

Develop the addition as a curling ice instead of a second skating rink.

Entire site, building, and mechanical systems were designed to support a second rink, with little viewer seating.

Instead of skating, curling?

I find it almost hilarious that the Curling Athletes from Russia are suspected of doping.
Of course, anything done at such a high level requires mental and physical strength and endurance, but I still find it funny...like a a gang of thugs, dressed in chains and leather, on scooters.
